Book a SessionMassage that actually fits a pregnant body
Pregnancy puts new demands on your body week by week — your lower back takes on more curve, your hips and pelvis shift, your shoulders round forward, and sleep gets harder to come by. Prenatal massage is about meeting your body where it is and easing the aches that come with carrying that extra load.
The hard part for most people is positioning. By the second trimester, lying face down on a flat table isn't comfortable or advisable, and many spas default to side-lying with a stack of pillows. That works, but it limits how much of your back I can actually reach. I do things differently.
The bodyCushion — why face-down stays possible
I use a professional bodyCushion positioning system designed specifically for pregnant clients. Instead of pressing on your belly, the cushion supports your body along its bony frame and leaves a generous recess for your abdomen to hang freely. The result: your spine is gently decompressed, pressure comes off the nerves and blood vessels, and your belly is never compressed.
That means you can lie comfortably face down well into your pregnancy — so I can work directly on the lower back, hips, and glutes where most of the pregnancy ache actually lives. And when face-down isn't what you want on a given day, the same system supports comfortable side-lying and reclining positions too.
If lying face down has felt off-limits since your first trimester, this is the part most clients are surprised by. Properly supported, it's safe and genuinely comfortable — and it lets the massage reach the areas that need it most.
What prenatal massage can help with
- Lower back and hip pain from your shifting center of gravity
- Sciatic-type aching down the glutes and legs
- Tight, achy shoulders and upper back
- Swelling and heaviness in the legs and feet
- Tension headaches and general stress
- Trouble sleeping and a wound-up nervous system
What to expect
We'll start by talking through where you are in your pregnancy, how you've been feeling, and any areas that need extra care or need to be avoided. I'll get you set up on the bodyCushion in whatever position is most comfortable that day, and check in on pressure throughout — prenatal work is nurturing and supportive rather than deep or aggressive.
Most clients leave feeling lighter, looser, and noticeably more at ease in their body. Many come back regularly through their pregnancy, since the relief tends to build the more consistently we work.
I welcome clients in every trimester. If you have a high-risk pregnancy or any complications, please check with your doctor or midwife first — and let me know about anything relevant so I can tailor the session safely. Prenatal massage supports your comfort and wellbeing; it isn't a substitute for prenatal medical care.
